Photos: Check Out Village In Nassarawa State Where 80% Of Children Don't Go To School Or Know Their Birthdays

The founder of Ace charity, Kiki James, shared her experiences via her recent visit to Piyanko village, A community that is close to the federal Capital Territory.

The reason for the visit  was for medical outreach. she discovered that 80% of children there have nit seen a classroom neither do they know their age.

She took to her IG page to share her experience.

Here is what she shared:

I met Adanma on a recent visit to Piyanko village, asked why she wasn't in school and she just shrugged. Asked how old she was and she said she didn't know. Asked if we could be friends and she smiled and said "no", when I asked why she said "because I won't see you again", she was wrong. I was later told by the village rep that 80% of the children in this village do not go to school and do not know their ages or birthdays because their parents did  not "keep track, the only celebration done is during the 7 day naming after a child is born- finish". Through various partnerships, we are hoping to change all this.
