The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 23-year old man, Taiwo Olatokunbo, for killing a customer, simply identified as Christian, over N200 beer.
Police Public Relations Office, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was arrested following a distress call received from one Temitope Adedayo, who ran a beer parlour at No 4 Ijagun, Ijebu Ode.
She reported that at about 3pm of the said date, the suspect came to buy a bottle of beer worth N200 but refused to pay.
This was said to have led to an argument between her and the suspect, consequence upon which the deceased, who also happened to be her customer, intervened and asked the suspect to pay for the beer.
Temitope stated further that the intervention of Christian infuriated the suspect, who broke a bottle and stabbed him at the right elbow joint.
The victim was quickly rushed to a State hospital at Ijebu Ode, for medical attention, but gave up the ghost while receiving treatment.
