More than 25,000 litres of adulterated petroleum products has been captured by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), at a filling station situated in Amawbia, Awka South Council Area of Anambra State Newsvib.com understands.
Mrs Obiageli Obiajulu, NSCDC State Commandant, uncovered this while briefing the Newsmen at the point where the adulterated petroleum was found.
According to Mrs Obiageli, the fake product was discovered when the filling station was offloading the diesel at the filling station which was carried in an articulated vehicle carefully constructed and hidden under the main tank.
She also disclosed that the vehicle is their custody while the suspects escaped on sighting NSCDC officials, adding that the illegal product was covered with sawdust to disguise their activities.

She displayed bitterness at the management of the filling for patronizing an adulterated product from unlicensed vehicle and promise that the fake product recovered by them will aid in their investigation to apprehend the driver and discover other filling stations patronising the fake products.
Items recovered by the men of NSCDC were a pumping machine, a large number of pipes, over 25,000 litres of drums, 100 bags of sawdust, among others.
