Coming from Calabar, Cross River state, a man was arrested for stealing meat from St Paul's Catholic Church located at the university of Calabar which Rev. FR. Francis Effiong is the parish priest.
The suspect who was arrested for stealing from the refrigerator of the priest, had left his his house by 9am for a mass. He claimed to be a prison warden and was apprehended just as he was about leaving the kitchen with bags of meat in both hands,.
According to a source: “Before today’s incident, many other items such as washing machines, television sets, cookers, and so on have been missing from the house. He lives in the boys’ quarters just directly behind the priest’s kitchen”, he said.
