Not less than seven people on Wednesday lost their lives in a car collision along Hadejia to Kaugama street in Jigawa.
Mr Angus Ibezim, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, who affirmed the episode, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that four others maintained different degrees of damage.
He said the mischance, which included a Cetroen auto and tanker vehicle, happened at around 7 a.m, and was caused by unreasonable speeding and poor perceivability caused by precipitation.
Ibezim said the casualties were dairy cattle merchants and were en route to Gaidam town in Yobe State when the mischance happened.
As per him, the auto, which should convey eight people, was passing on 11 travelers.
"The FRSC is consequently encouraging drivers to stop from speeding, over-burdening and driving when perceivability isn't clear, especially as the blustery season has set in," he included.
