Doctor with Cardiac Arrest Collapses, Dies Due To Lack Of Defibrillator






A resident doctor at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has died after collapsing during the National Executive Council meeting of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, in FMC, Yenogoa, Bayelsa State.

According to one of his colleagues, the deceased, identified as Stephen Ijeuwe, had a cardiac arrest.




He was allegedly rushed to the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital, where CPR was carried out on him, but they were later told that the hospital had only one defilbrillator which was not functioning. He died some minutes later.
